OBJECT: TO DETERMINE THE SLUMP AND COMPACTION FACTOR OF CONCRETE MIX (RATIO 1:2:4)

 

APPARATUS: SLUMP CONE AND BASE, COMPACTION FACTOR APPARATUS, TEMPING ROD, GLASS JAR 1000CC &100CC, TROWEL BUCKET, PLATEFORM, BALANCE ETC.

PROCEDURE: -

1. Prepare the mix in 1:2:4 ratio by weight. First mix cement, F.A., C.A. dry then add water and mix thoroughly.

2. Fill slump cone with this concrete in three layers upto top level and compact each layer by temping rod giving 25 blows for each layer.

3. After slump test put this concrete in top hopper of C.F. apparatus. 4. For calculating the theoretical weight of concrete (fully compacted) the respective densities of cement, F.A., C.A. may be taken as obtain earlier.
